Help Us Help You:
Build a Resource Bank

A Request From the
Disability Advocacy Support Hub (DASH)

The goal of Disability Advocacy Support Hub (DASH) is to help disability advocacy groups that work with people with disabilities to make positive change in their communities and across Pennsylvania. DASH is aimed at supporting groups - groups that have been around for a while, those that are changing, and new groups that want to start up.

As part of our work, we'd like to set up a "Resource Bank" of materials that would be helpful to new and existing disability advocacy groups. These materials will be posted on our website so that they can be accessed at any time.

We're looking for written materials that you've found helpful. If you've prepared a brochure or a "How To" paper, a manual or newsletter article or some other written materials about:

legislative and policy advocacy; community organizing; organizational development; grants and fundraising; effective planning; different advocacy approaches; networking and coalition building; effective media strategies; corporate, legal, and fiscal issues relating to non-profits; management of small non-profits; or other subjects of interest or if you've used someone else's materials (with permission) please share them with us.

Please send any resources that you'd like to have included in the Resource Bank via e-mail to [email protected]. Be sure to put "Resource Bank" in the subject line. Also, make sure to list the source of the information or who prepared it.

Don't forget that DASH is here to provide technical assistance to disability advocacy groups at any time. If your group needs help to get better organized, to build advocacy plans or to be more of a force in your community, please contact us. Just call our toll-free phone line for help and support when your group needs it at 1-866-915-3274 (phone) or 1-877-375-7139 (TTY). You can also e-mail us at [email protected].

DASH is a project of the Disability Rights Network (DRN) of Pennsylvania under a grant from the PA Developmental Disabilities Council.
