Voice of the Retarded Visit to Capitol Hill Gets More Co-Sponsors for Frank Bill

Voice of the Retarded Visit to Capitol Hill Gets More Co-Sponsors for Frank Bill

July 1st, 2008

Voice of the Retarded (VOR) had its Washington conference and Hill Day earlier in June. The number of co-sponsors for the bill has grown to 36 (see Members in red below). That some of the people on this list would even think about a bill that has a negative impact on the RIGHTS of people with disabilities is just appalling.

Please contact your Members on this list and let them know WHY they should not be on this bill. It is very important to work on this issue with a coalition of disability groups, self-advocates, parents, advocates, etc. Members of Congress must learn that H.R. 3595 is a step back in disability history and we want to keep moving forward.

There are detailed talking points on this bill available on the NDRN web-site at --

Contact information for your Members is available if you click on the links below.

Please let us know what they say!!!
