Assistive Technology - What is Important to You?
Assistive Technology - What is Important to You?
The Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania recently circulated its new priorities for fiscal years 2009 - 2011 (attached). We are now planning the implementation of these priorities. As we develop our plan to carry out our assistive technology priorities for fiscal year 2009, we would like to know about the assistive technology issues that are important to you.
As you may know, assistive technology is a device or service that helps a person with a disability to live more independently. Examples of assistive technology devices are power wheelchairs, augmentative communication devices, hearing aids, screen reading software, ramps, lifts, and accessible voting machines. Examples of assistive technology services are evaluation, repair, and training on the use of an assistive technology device.
Please let us know what assistive technology issues are important to you as we develop our plan to implement our assistive technology priorities. What specific needs are there concerning assistive technology? What specific barriers are there concerning assistive technology?
Please email Chava Kintisch, Esquire, Assistive Technology Project Director, at [email protected] no later than Friday, September 19, 2008. Thank you.
