Friends:

The Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania, the Education Law Center, and the Juvenile Law Center are working together on a multi-year project that will provide education and training to persons with disabilities, their family members, and other advocates on a wide-range of disability law and policy issues.  DRN, ELC, and JLC are fortunate to have the generous support of the Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council for this project.

The project, called "Train Leaders for Tomorrow," does not aim simply to provide trainings and educational materials on disability rights.  Rather, we seek to develop a group of leaders who will receive intensive training that will provide them with an understanding of how state and local legislative, administrative, and judicial systems work.  We will also work with these leaders to identify and create opportunities to build relationships and networks to help them use this understanding to achieve systemic reform that will protect and advance the rights of people with disabilities.

Such a project will only succeed if we are able to provide the disability community and those who work with individuals with disabilities with relevant information that will help people be better advocates for themselves and others, and if we can deliver that information using methods and technologies that are the most useful and efficient for the audience we hope to reach.

So we are seeking your help.  We have created a short survey that seeks your views on 1) the topics you think it would be most helpful to learn about; and 2) the training methods (e.g., live presentations, webinars, videos, etc.) that you think would work best for you and the persons with disabilities, family members, and advocates you know.

You can participate in the survey online at this link:
