The Disability Voting Coalition Needs YOU!
The Disability Voting Coalition Needs YOU!
Voting does more than elect politicians. Through the act of voting, people become dynamic players in the political arena where policy decisions are made and both our political and personal power grows. We become active citizens, connected with the community of voters.
Unfortunately, according to US Census data, people with disabilities are 15% less likely to be registered to vote and 20% less likely to vote if registered. Consequently, our issues take a back seat to those associated with groups who have more political clout, groups more likely to turn out voters.
The Disability Voting Coalition of Pennsylvania (DVC) is a growing, statewide organization that focuses on building a voting bloc in the disability community and mobilizing people with disabilities to vote.
Join us! Please help us build the DVC through increased membership; we want to show politicians that we are a force to be reckoned with! Membership is FREE! We welcome people with disabilities and their friends, families, and allies. DVC members receive a membership card, a bi-monthly newsletter, access to our monthly organizer calls, and an invitation to regional trainings.
If you would like more information about DVC or if you need help with a voter registration drive or voter education, please contact Rachel Freund, DVC Project Coordinator at 1-877-391-3820, ext. 2002 or at [email protected].
