Rally in Philadelphia to Stop Pennhurst Haunted Event, Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10AM

In response to the haunted attraction that is scheduled to open on the grounds of the former Pennhurst State School and Hospital in Spring City, PA, Vision for Equality will be co-sponsoring a Rally and Press Conference with Liberty Resources, Inc. and the Disability Rights Network of PA on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10am. The Rally will take place at -The Sovereign Building Atrium

As you are aware, Vision for Equality was the first organization that made statements to publically oppose the creation of this haunted attraction. We feel that this event is insulting to the souls of the people who once lived there and to those who were residents there and are now living in the community. Many people over an 80-year time period were abused, neglected, raped and victimized. This inhumane treatment of people who lived at Pennhurst should never be sensationalized to entertain the public.
