Friends,
As you may know, SeniorLAW Center has been advocating with a coalition of organizations against the pending Voter ID legislation in PA (HB 934), which would disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters, including a disproportionate numbers of elders, minorities, the disabled, and youth, from exercising their fundamental right to vote. We are working with the ACLU to identify seniors, disabled individuals or others who do NOT have a current, government-issued photo ID and may have difficulty obtaining it. (This may include obtaining an official birth certificate, photos, traveling to the Department of Motor Vehicles, mobility problems, isolation, cost of procuring documentation, etc.).
Their stories may help stop this legislation. Please help by sharing this request and forwarding any contacts or leads who are willing to share their story to the ACLU’s “Story Finder,” Alisa Roth. Her contact information is below. Alisa is willing to do the legwork to follow up with individuals and/or with you, as needed.
