Hi folks –
Vision for EQuality will be hosting Kevin Friel, the new Deputy Secretary of the Office of Developmental Programs, on January 20, 2012 from 10AM to 12PM at Vision for Equality. This is an opportunity for people with disabilities, family members, and caregivers to meet Mr. Friel and express their concerns for the future. Deputy Secretary Friel is most anxious to meet with families and to hear their individual stories from them directly.

I received a call earlier today from our County telling us beyond all of their many, many efforts (and we know how hard they have tried) we have just had our first admission from Philadelphia to a state center (Whitehaven) this evening. This is a woman who is extremely capable and should not be going there but there was no recourse. This is the 12th admission since this administration has taken office in one year. This is criminal and we must do all in our power to stop what is just beginning.
