Director of Civic and Government Affairs, Philadelphia
Chava Kintisch, Esquire, is the Director of Civic and Government Affairs for the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania (DRN). She directs the civic engagement and government relations efforts of DRN at the federal, state, and local level to advance the rights of adults and children with disabilities.
Chava joined DRN in 2004, maintaining a diverse practice while serving in her prior positions as Staff Attorney and Assistive Technology Project Director. She has performed extensive legal and policy advocacy to safeguard the civil rights of persons with disabilities and has frequently provided training for individuals and community groups, particularly in the areas of assistive technology, Medical Assistance, and home and community-based services. Before joining DRN, Chava worked as an attorney for the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia, Liberty Resources, Inc., Georgia Legal Services Program, and the Disability Law and Policy Center of Georgia helping individuals and families with issues involving health care, housing discrimination, public benefits, special education, and discharge from a large state institution into community settings with appropriate supports.
Chava is a graduate with distinction of Emory University School of Law and received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Central Michigan University.
